Under and by virtue of the Tax Executions issued by Williamsburg County Treasurer, Kimber W. Cooper, I, Norma L. Cyrus, Williamsburg County Tax Collector, have levied upon and will sell to the highest bidder these properties as is.
The real estate and personal property described below will be sold by auction in the auditorium at the ALEX CHATMAN COUNTY COMPLEX BUILDING, 147 WEST MAIN ST., KINGSTREE, SC on MONDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2020 beginning at 10:00 A.M. If the sale is not concluded on that day, it will continue at 10:00 A.M., TUESDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2020 in the same location. All properties will be sold subject to the terms of the Soldier’s and Sailor’s Relief Act of 1940.
according to the uniform tax collection act of 1985, section 12-51-70, all bids are final and failure to comply could result in a fine of $500.00 for each property. the Forfeited Land Commission begins the bid with the amount of delinquent taxes, penalties and cost. The purchaser of property at the tax sale acquires the title without warranty and buys at his own risk. Williamsburg County is not liable for the quality or quantity of the property sold.
Effective with tax sales occurring after June 6, 2000, Section 12-51-90 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina is amended to read, in part as follows” “(B) Interest is due on the whole amount of the delinquent tax sale based on the month during the redemption period the property is redeemed according to the following schedule: First three months - three percent; months four, five and six - six percent, months seven, eight and nine - nine percent; last three months - twelve percent. However, in every redemption, the amount of the interest due must not exceed the amount of the bid on the property submitted on behalf of the Forfeited Land Commission pursuant to Section 12-51-55.”
To prevent the property listed below from being sold, taxes, penalties and costs must be paid in full to Williamsburg County Tax Collector, Public Service Administration Building, 201 W. Main St., P. O. Box 477, Kingstree, SC 29556 by Friday, December 4, 2020 by 5:00 P.M. Payment must be made in the form of cashier’s check, money order or other certified funds.
