NOTICE OF ELECTIONS
STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA
The General Election for federal, state, county, and other local offices will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Any person wishing to vote in this election must register no later than Sunday, October 4, 2020. Voter registration by mail forms will be accepted if postmarked by Monday, October 5, 2020.
In order to continue to protect the voters and our poll workers with the social distancing policy for COVID 19 Pandemic, the absentee precinct will be located at the Alex Chapman Auditorium at 147 West Main St. Kingstree, SC (main street entrance only). We will open the absentee precinct on September 28 – November 2, 2020, Monday – Fridays at 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 pm and Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

A drop box is located at the side of the Voter Registration Office for your convenience.
Voters will be asked to provide one of the following Photo IDs at their polling place.
- S.C. Driver’s License
- Includes standard License and REAL ID
- S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles ID Card
- Includes standard ID card and REAL ID
- Includes SC Concealed Weapons Permit
- S.C Voter Registration Card with Photo
- Federal Military ID
- Includes all Department of Defense Photo IDs and Veterans Affairs Benefits Card
- U.S. Passport
- Includes US Passport ID Card
If you have one of these Photo IDs, you are ready to vote. Voters should remember to bring one of these IDs with them to the polling place. Voters without Photo ID can get one free of charge from the Department of Motor Vehicles or their county voter registration office. Voters who encounter an obstacle to getting a Photo ID should bring their paper voter registration card without a photo with them to their polling place. These voters can then sign an affidavit swearing to their identity and to their obstacle to obtaining a Photo ID and vote a provisional ballot. This ballot will count unless the county board of voter registration and elections has grounds to believe the affidavit is false. At 9:00 a.m. on November 2, the County Board of Voter Registration and Elections will begin its examination of the absentee ballot return envelopes at the Williamsburg County Voter Registration & Elections Office at 126 South Jackson St., Kingstree, SC 29556, 843-355-6044
At 9:00 a.m. on November 6, the County Board of Canvassers will hold a hearing to determine the validity of all provisional ballots cast in this election. This hearing will be held at the Williamsburg County Voter Registration & Elections Office at 126 South Jackson St., Kingstree, SC 29556.
The following precincts and polling places will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. NOTE: Polling locations are subject to change due to the potential unavailability of some locations due to the coronavirus pandemic. Always check your polling place at www.scvotes.gov before any election.
